Our hybrid system uses both products for different layers of the floor to create a long lasting and beautiful finish to that bonus room we call, a garage!

Step 1: Substrate Prep We provide diamond grinding for all our past and present concrete surfaces. Aged or NEW we resurface the substrate with our mechanical 30” and 20” wheel grinders. All control joints are filled with an epoxy-based polymer for cracks that appear in the joints prior to application and all other visible fractures in the floor are also filled at that time. This providing continued lifetime strength to the substrate.

Step 2: Vapor Barriers We like to provide the best prep work and primer, that's why at Surface Shield Concrete Coatings we upgrade you to a free Moisture Vapor Barrier Primer Coat. This way either of the parties involve has any headaches later due to moisture vapor emissions in the substrate. Note: On larger projects WE DO charge to apply moisture barriers, water barrier primers as well as moisture vapor barrier solids epoxies.

Step 3: Epoxies, Polyaspartics, Chip Flake System This is when the pigmented polyurethane or epoxy is applied. If you have chosen a chip floor coating system in either 1/4'', 5/8'', or even 1” this is when we will apply a broadcast of blended chips over the existing pigmented floor.

Step 4: Polyaspartic Top Coat This is the last step! We apply one of the industry's best known 2-part solids clear polyaspartic topcoats that will leave your floor with a durable yet sleek shine for lifetime to come!
